The Kenya Editors’ Guild held its first Press Club for 2020 on March 3rd to discuss Public Service in the country.
The chief guest was Public Service Commission Chairman Stephen Kirogo. Kirogo said the Commission seeks to create a citizen-centric public service
About 3,200 young people are currently undergoing training before joining the Public Service. Besides preparing them for the Public Service, the trainees are also taught on how become self-employed.
The Commission will also hire 6,000 interns as part of capacity building and preparing the youth for the job market. This is aimed at tackling widespread youth unemployment in the country.
