The Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) has appointed veteran journalist Linda Bach as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Rosalia Omungo, who has served in the position for the past eight years.
Bach officially assumes office on October 16, 2025.
In a statement announcing the leadership change, KEG expressed appreciation to Omungo for her dedicated and visionary leadership throughout her tenure.
“Kenya Editors Guild is pleased to appoint Linda Bach as our new CEO, effective 16 October 2025. We thank outgoing CEO Rosalia Omungo for eight years of outstanding service and wish her well in her future endeavours,” the Guild said in a statement.
KEG President Zubeidah Kananu praised Omungo’s contributions to strengthening the Guild’s influence in Kenya’s media sector and expressed confidence in Bach’s ability to build on that legacy.
“Linda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, and we are confident that her leadership will drive the organisation forward,” said Kananu.
“We sincerely thank Rosalia for her sterling role in steering KEG and wish her all the best in her future endeavours,” she added.
Before her appointment, Bach served as a Council Member for Print Media on the KEG Executive Council. She previously worked at the Standard Group, where she held several editorial roles, including Quality Assurance Editor.
With over 15 years of experience in the media industry, Bach has also served at the Media Council of Kenya and within the Kenya Editors Guild. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (English and Literature) from Kenyatta University.
Following her elevation, KEG announced the appointment of Andy Kagwa, Council Member – Print, to fill Bach’s previous role, and Millicent Awuor as the new Chairperson of the Programmes Committee, a position previously held by Bach.
