The Kenya Editors Guild today joined senior members of the Judiciary, media leaders, and stakeholders in an Editors’ Breakfast hosted by Chief Justice Martha Koome.
The meeting, attended by Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, Justice Isaac Lenaola, Media Council of Kenya Board Chairperson Maina Muiruri, MCK CEO David Omwoyo, and representatives of various media associations, provided a platform for open discussions on issues affecting the media and justice sectors.

Key topics included media freedom, access to information, responsible court reporting, the rise of Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs), journalist accreditation, and the growing challenge of misinformation and disinformation.
Participants emphasized the importance of collaboration between the media and the Judiciary in strengthening constitutional democracy, promoting accountability, and maintaining public trust, particularly as Kenya prepares for the 2027 General Election.
The Kenya Editors Guild welcomed the Judiciary’s continued commitment to dialogue and engagement with the media in advancing the public interest.
