Have learnt with great shock and dismay that the Senate Committee on National Security, Defence and Foreign Affairs on Wednesday August 19, 2020 ejected members of the media from the sitting. The media had gathered to cover a routine hearing. The Committee chaired by Garissa Senator Hon Yusuf Haji had summoned Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to explain the arrest of Senators Cleophas Malala of Kakamega, Christopher Langat of Bomet and Steve Lelegwe of Samburu hours before a crucial vote in the Senate.
